Laughing Boy by Oliver La Farge is a coming-of-age novel set in 1915 among the Navajo people of the American Southwest. As they attempt to build a life together, their relationship is tested by external pressures and personal conflict. The novel explores themes of cultural identity, love, and the clash between tradition and modernity. Laughing Boy won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1930.
