Pessoa won the Pulitzer Prize finalist designation for Biography and was a New York Times bestseller and New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice. Nearly a century after his wrenching death, the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa (1888–1935) remains one of our most enigmatic writers.
